This study was undertaken to explore the possible effect of growth hormone tGH) and cortisol at the insulin receptor sensitivity under the working hypothesis that decrease insulin receptor sensitivity at the target organs is one of the causes of the diabetic pathophysiology. Newly diagnosed untreated 15 male and 15 female non-insulin dependent diabetes mellitus (NIDDM) were studied.
