THE ECOLOGY OF MALARJA CARRYING MOSQUITO ANOPHELES PHILIPPINENSIS LUDLOW AND ITS RELATION TO MALARIA IN BANGLADESH

The ecology or Anopheles philippinensis based mainly on the investigations of 1982-83 and previous observations of several years especially in Gazipur (Dhaka) district have been reported. The following aspects have been included: breeding places, seasonal, prevalence, biting and resting behaviour patterns, distribution and relation to malaria, and response to control measures. The maximum population density have been found to be during August to December.
