Live Aeromonas hydrophilia suspension was injected into the rabbit ileal loops (RIL) and changes observed after half an hour, then hourly upto eight hours and finally at 18 hours. Fluid accumulation started from four hours and continued at a steady speed. Obliteration of mucosal folds and a grey-white exudate covering the mucosa were the main naked eye changes.
