Certain characteristics of the liver surface significantly correlate with histology of the underlying liver disease. The present study was aimed to find out tbe degree of correlations between laparoscopic and histological appearance of
liver in chronic liver disease (CLD). Laparoscopy was performed on 35 patients with various liver diseases. The appearance of the liver was noted. Out of 35 patients biopsy samples could be obtained in 24 patients. Laparoscopic appearances significantly correlated with the biopsy diagnosis of cirrhosis.
