The study interviewed threc hundred women, mostly the wives of the head of the household of urban slums. The study women were selected on random sampling basis. The knowledge of study women on preventive MCH care was good (39.7%) and aboUl21. 7%, contacted some trained persons for advice on matters related to pregnancy and trealmenl of sickness.
