Occlusal splint plays a great role in the treatment of internal derangement of temporomandibular joint.
Temporomandibular disorders affect 25 % of the population of the world. The purpose of the study was to elucidate the effectiveness of occlusal splint in reduction of pain, increase mouth opening, elimination of clicking sound. This randomized controlled clinical trial was done on 26 patients in two groups. Group A received occlusal splint and Group B received medications with supportive care. Monthly follow-up was done for a period of four months.
