Dengue Fever in Bangladesh

Dengue viruses (DENV), arthropod-borne flavi virues cause acute systemic infection in tropical and subtropical regions.1-3 In most of the cases with dengue virus infection remain asymptomatic; however, it can cause a wide spectrum of clinical manifestations from mild febrile illness with spontaneous recovery to hemorrhagic dengue fever (DF) and/or dengue shock syndrome (DSS). 4 The global burden of dengue is dynamic, estimated 50 million new cases per year across approximately 100 countries.
