The National Tuberculosis Control Programme (NTP) in Bangladesh is acknowledged for it ssuccess in implementing the DOTS strategy 1. Since DOTS was introduced, the NTP has established a network of diagnostic, treatment and supportive TB services covering most of the country (process achievements); it has improved detection of TB cases and maintained a high cure rate among sputum positive patients (output achievements).
